Pic_LOTIS.gifQuest TruTec's proprietary technology, LOTIS® (internal) utilizes laser profilometry to inspect the internal surface of tubes in many critical applications such as steam reformers.  Coupling this technology with patent pending reporting software, Quest TruTec provides immediate and accurate data to enable instant risk-based decisions.  LOTIS has become internationally recognized by the NDT industry and the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) as a time-proven NDT method.  When catalyst removal is not indicated, tube inspections utilizing Quest TruTec's External Tube Crawler can be performed.

Features

  • 0.460" to 5.64" (11mm to 143mm) ID
  • Inspect up to 200 tubes per shift
  • Accuracy of plus/minus 0.002” (0.05mm)

Benefits

  • Capable of detecting and quantifying tube deformation
    • Bulging (i.e. flame impingement)
    • Swelling (i.e. creep strain)
    • Denting
    • Ovality
  • Capable of detecting and quantifying internal damage mechanisms
    • Corrosion
    • Erosion
    • Pitting
    • Mechanical damage
  • Proprietary 3D reports allow for improved resource management as well as operational analysis
  • Performs non-contact in-situ measurements
  • No scaffolding required
  • Remaining Life Assessment (RLA) is a proprietary LifeQuest™ Fitness For Service (FFS) program per API-579 that is available through Quest TruTec's sister company, Quest Reliability.

Applications

  • Steam reformers (in partnership with Johnson Matthey Catalysts)
  • Fired/process heaters (mule ear/plugged headers)
  • Boilers
  • Fin-fans/air coolers
  • Condensers
  • Heat exchangers
  • Tubular Reactors
