JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Technical Advisor
Reports to: Director – Global Business Development
Summary: Accountable for sales of services in specified regions of the country. Technical Advisors act as a sales facilitator for accounts in their specified Region. Technical Advisors must understand each service line sufficiently to verbally present information to clients in a credible and expert fashion while expressing values of the service. Must be able to formally quote each service offering and develop, seek and report marketing intelligence data as directed in their specified region or as needed to obtain targeted sales.
Hiring Location: Webster, Texas (USA)
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct technical presentations within small and large groups.
2. Generate technical quotations in compliance with client requirements.
3. Gather technical data from clients in a timely fashion.
4. Participate in training, both internally and externally.
5. Adequately report requested information.
6. Maintain Customer Resource Management (CRM) system.
7. Enlist team support for success as appropriate.
8. Meet objectives within set time frames and manage conformance to budget.
9. Support budgeting and predicting processes.
10. Participate in internal and customer meetings as required.
11. Prepare proposals for issuance to the client along with provision of project time lines, internal and external project costs and preparation of cost for the client.
12. Travel to locations in a timely fashion to achieve targeted success.
13. If capable, assist Field Service Technician work as required.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Engineering or other Technical Bachelor Degree required. 5 + years of industry and/or related experience.
2. Good knowledge of refining and/or syngas industry.
3. Familiar with inspection techniques and plant maintenance.
4. Ability to understand customer requirements and provide service packages, offering a full solution.
5. Have a thorough understanding of the balance between deadlines and accuracy of work.
6. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task, possess the willingness to learn and train, to be dependable and consistent with efforts.
7. Must possess a flexible and adaptive approach to working and time management.
8. Takes direction and readily takes on team roles.
9. Must be self-driven, highly motivated, and conduct oneself with diplomacy and have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
10. Must be willing to travel approximately 50% of the time.
11. Will need to adequately handle the pressure of making presentations and delivering information to highly trained personnel and possess the ability to close a negotiation leading to an order.
